Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager with 12 to 15 years of experience to lead our engineering team in Pune. This is a "player-coach" role designed for a technical expert who stays close to the code. You will be responsible for the technical excellence of our Indio Cloud ecosystem while managing team growth and resource allocation.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Technical Leadership (80%)

• Ground-Level Programming: Actively write and review code. You must be willing and able to handle complex application programming and system-level tasks personally.

• Architecture Ownership: Design and maintain scalable architectures for cloud platforms, system software and web applications. Understand end customer requirements and translate them into product specifications and scalable architectures/designs.

• System & Networking: engage with the system engineering team to build interface between the web/cloud applications and embedded systems.

• Code Management: Ability to maintain code base, version control, prepare and implement build processes

• Agile Development: Setup CI/CD processes, manage project/product schedules, prioritize tasks, create agile development practices and manage development lifecycles.

• Tech Stack Management: Ensure the performance, security and hands on development of our LAMP/LEMP stack (Linux, Apache/Nginx, MySQL, PHP/Perl, Code Ignitor/Laravel Frameworks).

• Strategy: Work directly with the CEO and CTO to turn business goals into technical reality.

Resource Handling (20%)

• Team Management: Oversee the engineering team, manage hiring, and handle resource planning.

• Mentorship: Guide senior developers and leads, conducting code reviews and setting high engineering standards.

• Reporting: Establish clear KPIs and project timelines for the department.

Required Skills

• Hands-on Expertise: 12+ years of experience with deep proficiency in PHP and Perl with minimum 8 years of hands on development.

• System Mastery: Expert knowledge of Linux Internals (Debian/Ubuntu/CentOS) and shell scripting.

• Networking: Strong understanding of TCP/IP, Radius, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.

• Databases: Advanced skills in MySQL/MariaDB optimization and schema design.

• Domain: Experience in the Telecom, ISP, or WiFi hardware industry is highly preferred.

Education & Background

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Proven track record of managing engineering teams while remaining technically active.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹2,000,000.00 - ₹3,000,000.00 per year
