Engineering Manager – Mechanical/MEP | Ames, IA | Onsite | PE Required

Join our growing MEP/Mechanical team as an Engineering Manager in Ames, IA! Lead a talented engineering department on high-profile mechanical, HVAC, piping, and plumbing projects. Oversee full-cycle design, mentor staff, and ensure engineering excellence across all projects. This is a hands-on, onsite role ideal for a licensed Professional Engineer (PE)with strong MEP/construction experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage engineering staff, including scheduling, mentoring, and performance evaluations
• Oversee full-cycle mechanical/MEP design: concept detailed engineering construction documents
• Review and approve engineering work for accuracy and compliance with standards
• Serve as primary contact for clients, consultants, and vendors
• Coordinate engineering schedules with project managers for multiple concurrent projects
• Attend client, design, pre-construction, and post-construction meetings
• Maintain and improve engineering standards, QA/QC processes, and team workflows
• Utilize Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks for design, modeling, and clash detection

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's in Mechanical, Construction, or related Engineering; Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• 7+ years in mechanical/MEP/construction engineering
• 5+ years in a supervisory or management role leading engineering teams
• Hands-on experience with HVAC, piping, plumbing, and MEP systems
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks
• Valid driver's license; pass pre-employment drug screening
