Engineering Operations Specialist

About MC&I

Mission Critical & Industrials (MC&I) is a growing consulting and engineering arm of NEI focused on the design and delivery of complex electrical infrastructure for demanding environments, including data centers, oil & gas operations and large-scale commercial and industrial facilities. MC&I supports high-impact infrastructure projects for clients, some of whom rank in the top ten of their respective industry segments across North America. The group combines the momentum of a team that is actively building with the stability of an established firm with more than 40 years of industry presence and over 300 engineers. Engineers remain engaged across the full project lifecycle, from early concept and planning through detailed design and execution support. The work emphasizes sound judgment, strong client relationships, and practical business thinking. MC&I offers an environment where engineers can contribute ideas, build lasting professional relationships, and help shape a long-term legacy of engineering excellence.

About the Position

The Engineering Operations Coordinator is a high-trust role within MC&I that reports directly to group leaders and serves as both a strategic executive partner and operational backbone for engineering teams. This position protects leadership bandwidth, strengthens intake and prioritization discipline, and reduces administrative friction so engineers can remain focused on high-value technical work and client delivery.

Acting as an extension of leadership, you will manage priorities, coordinate communication, and ensure structured follow-through on key initiatives. You will serve as the central intake and coordination point for matters impacting leadership and engineering teams, applying sound judgment to assess urgency, clarify ownership, and direct work appropriately while protecting team focus and productivity.

The ideal candidate brings meaningful experience supporting senior leaders, preferably within an engineering, consulting, or technical services environment, and takes pride in creating clarity, structure, and momentum in complex settings. This role requires executive presence, discretion, strong organizational discipline, and the confidence to reinforce prioritization and follow-through in a client-facing, deadline-driven environment.

As MC&I continues to grow, this role will be instrumental in reinforcing operational discipline and enabling leadership and engineering teams to operate with clarity, focus, and momentum.
