Engineering Plant Fitter

We are currently looking for a full time, permanent Maintenance fitter based at our fixed plant engineering workshop in Ashburton.

The work in general will be the planned maintenance and repair of aggregate processing equipment, screens, Impact, jaw and cone crushers, elevators, screw conveyors all associated with plant, such as, Asphalt, Readymix concrete, washing, and Block making.

Experience of plant maintenance in the quarrying sector would be an advantage but is not essential. However, a flexible ‘can do’ approach to problem solving is, as the role encompasses a range of engineering disciplines including, welding, fabrication, use of machine tools, Lathe, milling machine. There may also be a requirement for steel erecting.

Candidates would be expected to hold a recognized engineering qualification such as NVQ, city and guilds, BTEC. A knowledge of Hydraulic and pneumatic systems would be an advantage.

In exchange we offer a basic salary of £41,266 pa on a 45 hour contract, with the ability to earn additional overtime. The role will be based predominantly at our quarry in Ashburton, however there will be a requirement to work at our satellite sites, in Plymouth, Bude and Exeter.
