The Engineering Technical Writer supports the Principal Integration Program Manager (PIPM) and Integration Program Managers (IPMs) to develop and maintain technical documentation for multiple integration projects/programs.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Develop and Maintain a project/program Documentation Management Plan
- Coordinate regular review and update of program documentation
- Change/Content Management of program policy and requirements documents across multiple projects/programs
- Review/Edit engineering and acquisition documents and briefings to produce clear and concise material
- Validate documentation/briefing content to ensure accuracy and version control
- Manage Quality Assurance reviews of developed documents and briefings
- Manage review feedback of documents across multiple projects/programs, capturing revisions and suggestions for future development
- Coordinate leadership review and approval of documentation and briefings
- Actively participate in technical and programmatic meetings to provide status and define technical documentation development requirements and milestones
Skills:
Proficient in:
- Creation of technical documentation in Aerospace and Defense (for DoD)
- Technical Writing
- Version control, Change/Content Management principles and format
- Documentation/Presentation tools, including MS Office, Acrobat
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community both verbally and in writing
- Multi-tasking
Familiar with:
- Agile Development fundamentals, structure and procedure of agile ceremony meetings
- Working knowledge of US Navy and Department of Defense terminology and acronyms
- Military exposure and experience, particularly with military technical documentation writing and formatting standards, guidelines, and verbiage
Requirements:
- Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field of study and 3+ years of relevant work experience
- Security Clearance: Top Secret with Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI)
Work Environment:
- Work to be performed at NAVWAR Old Town classified space
