Job Title: Engineering to Manufacturing Process Alignment Lead
Location: Austin, TX (On-site, ITAR environment)
Project Duration: Up to 6 months (Initial consulting and strategy development)
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Engineering to Manufacturing Process Alignment Lead to join our team for a consulting role with a leading aerospace and defense company. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in optimizing the alignment of engineering and manufacturing processes, particularly focusing on the integration of the Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM), Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM), and associated processes.
As the lead for process optimization, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows, integrate engineering changes into the production process, and develop strategies to launch products on time. Your expertise in PLM and ERP systems, combined with your ability to lead process improvements, will be critical to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Expertise in EBOM, MBOM, DBOM, and SBOM processes: Ensure alignment of engineering and manufacturing documentation to drive efficient production.
- Manufacturing Process Optimization: Drive manufacturing process improvements, focusing on timely product launches and integration of engineering changes into production planning.
- Manage Engineering Parts for Production: Oversee pre-ordering of standard parts and the "just-in-time" release of continuously optimized engineering parts for production.
- PLM and ERP Integration: Work with Teamcenter, NX, and other CAD systems, and ERP (Odoo) to optimize integration of systems and improve manufacturing processes.
- Cataloging and Complexity Reduction: Lead initiatives to reduce cataloging issues, reduce part complexity, and promote part reuse across product lines.
- Drive Change Management: Lead the enterprise change and release management process with a strong focus on EBOM-MBOM alignment.
- Consulting and Strategy Development: Collaborate with business leaders to assess current processes, identify gaps, define target objectives, and develop a clear roadmap for process optimization.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with key stakeholders to drive consensus and ensure alignment on future-state strategies for design, engineering, and manufacturing processes.
- Digital Thread Understanding: Knowledge of Siemens A&D Digital Thread is preferred.
Required Qualifications:
- Expertise in EBOM, MBOM, DBOM, and SBOM processes.
- Previous experience in the Aerospace & Defense (A&D) industry, specifically with satellite and rocket products.
- Strong experience with PLM systems (Teamcenter, NX) and ERP systems (Odoo).
- Proven ability to manage enterprise change and release management processes.
- Deep understanding of manufacturing process optimization and product launch processes.
- Strong background in process analysis and the ability to define and implement process improvements.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) environment.
- Only US citizens or Green card holders will be considered due to ITAR requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Siemens A&D digital thread is a plus.
- Consulting experience, particularly in manufacturing process alignment and optimization.
- Strong leadership abilities and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
