Duties
- Design and implement comprehensive English language curricula tailored to different levels and learning needs, including adult education and higher education settings
- Deliver engaging classroom instruction using a variety of teaching methods and learning technology platforms such as LMS (Learning Management Systems) and Blackboard
- Conduct research to stay current with best practices in language instruction, curriculum development, and educational technology trends
- Assess student progress through assignments, exams, and participation, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement
- Develop supplementary instructional materials that enhance learning experiences in areas like creative writing, social work communication, or library services
- Facilitate workshops or seminars on topics such as bilingual education, adult language acquisition, or higher education teaching strategies
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary programs incorporating GIS (Geographic Information Systems), SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences), or other relevant tools to enrich curriculum content
Experience
- Proven experience teaching English in higher education or adult education environments with a focus on language development and communication skills
- Strong background in curriculum development, instructional design, and the integration of learning technology platforms such as LMS and Blackboard
- Demonstrated ability to conduct research related to language pedagogy or educational methodologies
- Classroom experience working with diverse student populations, including bilingual learners and those in social work or library services programs
- Familiarity with assessment tools and data analysis software like SPSS for evaluating student outcomes
- Experience working within university settings or similar academic institutions is highly desirable
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to create engaging instructional content across multiple formats
