<Responsibilities>
- Design and implement comprehensive English curricula aligned with educational standards, including AP style and standardized testing requirements.
- Develop innovative lesson plans that incorporate instructional design principles, learning technology tools, and differentiated strategies to meet varied student needs.
- Conduct copy editing, proofreading, and research activities to ensure high-quality instructional materials and student assignments.
- Mentor and support students through tutoring sessions, classroom management, behavior guidance, and academic advising to foster their literacy development and confidence.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development projects, integrating linguistics concepts and creative writing techniques into lessons.
- Evaluate student progress through assessments, standardized tests, and formative feedback; adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Maintain organized records of lesson plans, student performance data, and instructional resources while managing classroom activities effectively.
<Requirements>
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Linguistics, or a related field; advanced degrees preferred.
- Proven experience in higher education teaching or classroom instruction within private or independent school settings.
- Strong knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style, AP style guidelines, and proofreading standards.
- Expertise in curriculum development, instructional design, and literacy education methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to mentor students and collaborate with colleagues effectively.
- Familiarity with learning technology platforms, library services, and educational software tools.
