Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated English educator to inspire and guide students in mastering the art of effective communication, critical thinking, and creative expression. Duties

  • Design and implement comprehensive English curricula tailored to various learning levels, incorporating best practices in instructional design and literacy education
  • Develop lesson plans that integrate creative writing, journalism, and standardized testing preparation to enhance student engagement and achievement
  • Conduct classroom instruction while managing student behavior and fostering an inclusive learning environment
  • Provide personalized tutoring and academic advising to support individual student needs and learning styles
  • Edit and proofread student work using AP style, Chicago Manual of Style, and other relevant standards to ensure clarity and correctness
  • Mentor fellow educators on curriculum development, instructional strategies, and classroom management techniques
  • Utilize learning technology tools to create interactive lessons that promote active learning and digital literacy skills

Skills

  • Expertise in curriculum development, instructional design, and lesson planning across diverse educational contexts
  • Strong knowledge of AP style, Chicago Manual of Style, proofreading, and copy editing standards
  • Proven experience in teaching higher education or secondary education settings with classroom management proficiency
  • Familiarity with literacy education, standardized testing strategies, and research methodologies
  • Ability to mentor colleagues while fostering professional growth within a collaborative team environment
  • Excellent communication skills for working with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators
  • Organizational skills necessary for managing multiple classes, lesson plans, assessments, and educational records effectively
  • Knowledge of learning technology platforms, library services integration, and special education practices including behavior management strategies
  • Experience with private school environments or Montessori methods is a plus but not required
