Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced English Editor with a strong background in educational publishing. The ideal candidate must possess excellent command over the English language and a sharp eye for detail, with proven experience in editing, proofreading, and content development for school-level books.

Key Responsibilities:

• Edit and proofread English academic content (textbooks, workbooks, teacher resources) for grammar, punctuation, spelling, clarity, and consistency.
• Ensure adherence to PM Publishers' editorial guidelines and curriculum requirements (CBSE/ICSE/state boards).
• Work closely with content developers, subject matter experts, and designers to ensure timely and high-quality content delivery.
• Rewrite and improve manuscript quality while maintaining the original meaning and voice.
• Fact-check and ensure content accuracy, pedagogical soundness, and age-appropriateness.
• Manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
• Review page layouts and final proofs for final sign-off before printing.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in English, Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field.
• 4 to 5 years of editorial experience in a publishing house (experience in school textbooks is mandatory).
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Strong editing, proofreading, and rewriting skills.
• Familiarity with curriculum standards (NCERT/CBSE/ICSE).
• Proficient in MS Office and editing tools.
• Attention to detail, strong time management, and ability to work collaboratively in a team.

Preferred Skills:

• Understanding of child-friendly tone and pedagogy.
• Experience with digital content formats and e-learning platforms is a plus.
• Knowledge of design/layout and publishing software (e.g., InDesign) is desirable but not mandatory.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
