Job Summary
Creating and maintaining a digital learning environment that is conducive to the maturity, interests, and abilities of the high school student.
Facilitating the learning process toward the achievement of the established District curriculum and objectives.
Conducting ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifying instruction and materials to fit individual student needs, including students in need of targeted, strategic, and intensive interventions.
Utilizing a variety of digital and traditional resources to supplement existing online coursework.
Planning and conducting small group and individual tutoring support sessions in support of the existing online coursework.
Effectively communicating and collaborating with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators to provide feedback regarding student progress, expectations, and goals.
Providing in-person ELA course coverage as scheduled by the High School Principal or Assistant Principal.
Qualifications
PA Instructional I or II Teaching Certificate: English 7-12 (3230)
PDE Program Endorsement: Online Instruction Program PK-12 (1184) is a plus!
Experience with Special Education programs and/or providing intensive academic interventions
Strong knowledge of digital resources, including Google tools, Edgenuity, and Zoom
Excellent communication and organizational skills with an emphasis on digital communications
Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy relevant to the secondary learning environment, with knowledge of asynchronous and synchronous instructional formats
Willingness to be flexible in terms of teaching assignment
