English Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Writing Instructor to lead our OCSA Writing Class, a creative writing program designed for middle school students of all backgrounds. While some students attend OCSA, the class is open to all students interested in developing strong writing and storytelling skills.

The instructor will guide students through the creative writing process — from brainstorming and drafting to revising and polishing their work. Students will also have opportunities to submit their completed pieces to future writing competitions.

Responsibilities include:

• Teaching weekly writing lessons focused on creative writing and storytelling techniques
• Providing individualized feedback and editing support
• Delivering short lectures on writing craft (structure, tone, voice, narrative style, etc.)
• Encouraging creativity and confidence in students’ written expression
• Helping students prepare and refine works for writing contests and publications

Qualifications:

• Strong background in English, writing, or education (teaching experience preferred)
• Enthusiasm for working with middle school students
• Ability to provide constructive, encouraging feedback

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
