Job Title: English Teacher – Senior Secondary (Cambridge & IB)

Job Overview

D Y Patil International School, Worli is looking for an experienced and passionate English Teacher to teach Senior Secondary classes (Grades 9–12) under the Cambridge (IGCSE & A Levels) and IB (MYP/DP) curricula. The ideal candidate will be committed to academic excellence, student-centered learning, and holistic development.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with Cambridge and IB curriculum frameworks.
• Teach English Language and Literature, including reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, and literary analysis.
• Prepare students for IGCSE, A Level, IB MYP and IB DP assessments.
• Design lesson plans that promote critical thinking, inquiry-based learning, and global perspectives.
• Assess, evaluate, and document student performance using formative and summative assessments.
• Provide constructive feedback to support student progress and exam readiness.
• Integrate technology and innovative teaching methodologies into classroom instruction.
• Maintain a positive, disciplined, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with subject coordinators and faculty on curriculum planning and assessments.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding academic progress and student development.
• Participate in school meetings, professional development programs, and co-curricular activities.
• Uphold school policies, values, and international education standards.

Qualifications & Experience

Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English or related field.
• B.Ed. / PGCE / equivalent teaching qualification (mandatory).
• Cambridge and/or IB training or certification preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum 4–6 years of teaching experience at Senior Secondary level.
• Proven experience teaching Cambridge (IGCSE/A Levels) and/or IB (MYP/DP).
• Strong understanding of international assessment criteria and exam preparation.
