English Teacher

Positive Minds Academy is seeking a passionate and engaging Elementary English Tutor to work with students in Kindergarten through 5th Grade. We are looking for a teacher who enjoys helping children build confidence and strong foundations in reading, grammar, phonics, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing.

At Positive Minds Academy, we focus on small class sizes, individualized attention, and deep learning to help every child succeed academically.

Responsibilities

• Teach reading, phonics, grammar, vocabulary, writing, and reading comprehension
• Conduct engaging small-group and one-on-one instruction
• Customize lessons based on each student’s strengths and areas for growth
• Help students improve confidence and communication skills
• Monitor student progress and provide updates when needed
• Create a positive, encouraging learning environment

Qualifications

• Experience teaching or tutoring elementary students (K–5)
• Strong English grammar, reading, and writing skills
• Experience with phonics and elementary writing preferred
• Patient, energetic, and engaging personality
• Teaching credential or education background is a plus
• Ability to work independently and manage small groups

Job Type: Part-Time
Pay: $25–$30 per hour (based on experience)
Location: Pleasanton, CA (In-person preferred)

Schedule: After-school hours and weekends
