
English Teacher - Nursery
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Planning and Implementation:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive English language curriculum for kindergarten students.
- Design lesson plans that incorporate interactive and age-appropriate activities to teach reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies to engage students and foster a love for learning.
- Classroom Management:
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, cooperation, and active learning.
- Implement effective classroom management techniques to maintain a safe and orderly classroom.
- Encourage positive behavior and address behavioral issues in a constructive manner.
- Assessment and Evaluation:
- Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress in language development and literacy skills.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
- Prepare and distribute progress reports and participate in parent-teacher conferences.
- Individualized Instruction:
- Identify and address the individual learning needs of each student.
- Provide additional support and enrichment activities for students who need it.
- Collaborate with special education staff to support students with learning differences.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate regularly with parents to keep them informed about their child's progress and classroom activities.
- Work collaboratively with other kindergarten teachers and staff to plan and implement school-wide activities and events.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school community activities.
- Resource Management:
- Maintain a well-organized and resource-rich classroom environment.
- Ensure the availability and proper use of educational materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Stay current with new teaching methods, educational technology, and best practices in early childhood education.
- Professional Development:
- Pursue continuous professional growth by attending workshops, conferences, and other training opportunities.
- Stay informed about developments in early childhood education and English language teaching.
- Reflect on teaching practices and seek feedback to improve instructional effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, English, or a related field.
- Teaching certification in early childhood education or elementary education preferred.
- Experience:
- Previous teaching experience in a kindergarten or early childhood education setting preferred.
- Experience with English language learners (ELL) or bilingual education is a plus.
