English Teacher - Nursery

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Planning and Implementation:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive English language curriculum for kindergarten students.
  • Design lesson plans that incorporate interactive and age-appropriate activities to teach reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies to engage students and foster a love for learning.
  • Classroom Management:
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, cooperation, and active learning.
  • Implement effective classroom management techniques to maintain a safe and orderly classroom.
  • Encourage positive behavior and address behavioral issues in a constructive manner.
  • Assessment and Evaluation:
  • Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress in language development and literacy skills.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
  • Prepare and distribute progress reports and participate in parent-teacher conferences.
  • Individualized Instruction:
  • Identify and address the individual learning needs of each student.
  • Provide additional support and enrichment activities for students who need it.
  • Collaborate with special education staff to support students with learning differences.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
  • Communicate regularly with parents to keep them informed about their child's progress and classroom activities.
  • Work collaboratively with other kindergarten teachers and staff to plan and implement school-wide activities and events.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school community activities.
  • Resource Management:
  • Maintain a well-organized and resource-rich classroom environment.
  • Ensure the availability and proper use of educational materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Stay current with new teaching methods, educational technology, and best practices in early childhood education.
  • Professional Development:
  • Pursue continuous professional growth by attending workshops, conferences, and other training opportunities.
  • Stay informed about developments in early childhood education and English language teaching.
  • Reflect on teaching practices and seek feedback to improve instructional effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, English, or a related field.
  • Teaching certification in early childhood education or elementary education preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Previous teaching experience in a kindergarten or early childhood education setting preferred.
  • Experience with English language learners (ELL) or bilingual education is a plus.
