Position Title: Cambridge English Teacher (Primary / Lower Secondary / IGCSE)
Department: Academics – Languages
Reports to: Academic Coordinator / Head of Department
Location: BUDIGERE CROSS, BENGALURU (MANDUR)

Role Overview

The Cambridge English Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality English language and literature instruction aligned with the Cambridge curriculum. The role focuses on developing students’ reading, writing, speaking, listening, and critical thinking skills while fostering a love for language, literature, and effective communication.

Key Responsibilities Curriculum Delivery & Planning

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with Cambridge English learning objectives.
  • Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and teaching resources in line with curriculum requirements.
  • Integrate language skills—reading, writing, speaking, and listening—across lessons.
  • Use inquiry-based and learner-centred approaches to enhance language acquisition.

Teaching & Learning

  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs.
  • Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and effective communication.
  • Incorporate literature, media texts, and real-world contexts into teaching.

Assessment & Feedback

  • Design and administer formative and summative assessments aligned with Cambridge standards.
  • Assess student work using Cambridge assessment criteria and rubrics.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback to support student progress.
  • Maintain accurate academic records and contribute to student reports.

Student Development & Support

  • Support students in developing confidence in spoken and written English.
  • Identify learning gaps and implement appropriate interventions or enrichment strategies.
  • Guide students in exam preparation (where applicable) and skill-building.
  • Collaborate with SEN/learning support teams where required.

Professional Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively with Academic Coordinators and colleagues.
  • Participate in curriculum planning, moderation, and departmental meetings.
  • Engage in professional development programmes and Cambridge training sessions.
  • Contribute to school events, literacy initiatives, and co-curricular activities.

Parent & School Communication

  • Communicate student progress and learning goals effectively with parents.
  • Participate in parent-teacher meetings and academic discussions.
  • Uphold school policies, values, and professional standards.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English / Education.
  • Teaching qualification (B.Ed / M.Ed / PGCE or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience teaching Cambridge English (Primary, Lower Secondary, or IGCSE).
  • Strong familiarity with Cambridge curriculum frameworks and assessment practices.

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Strong classroom management and lesson delivery skills.
  • Ability to design engaging and differentiated learning experiences.
  • Effective assessment and feedback strategies.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Desirable Attributes

  • Experience in international or Cambridge schools.
  • Training or certification from Cambridge International Education.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹11,392.08 - ₹34,170.06 per month
