Test Preparation Tutor – SAT/ACT and K–12 Academic Support
We are currently seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable K12 English (Reading comprehension and Writing) and Test Preparation Tutor to join our academic team. This role is ideal for an individual with a passion for education and a strong desire to support students in achieving their academic and standardized testing goals. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to student success, a mastery of subject content, and an ability to engage students across a range of academic abilities.
This position involves both individualized instruction and small-group teaching in subjects such as Math and English, with a primary focus on SAT/ACT preparation and K–12 academic support.
Position Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver customized lesson plans aligned with students’ learning goals and standardized test requirements.
- Conduct one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions, both in-person and/or remotely.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback and tailored instruction.
- Teach test-taking strategies, time management, and effective study techniques.
- Adapt teaching approaches for students with diverse academic backgrounds and learning needs, including those with special education accommodations.
- Maintain a supportive and structured learning environment that promotes engagement and academic growth.
Schedule
Academic Year:
- Monday to Friday: 3:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- Saturday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (if necessary)
Summer Term:
- Monday to Friday: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Tutors with flexible availability during these hours will be given strong priority in our hiring process due to high student demand.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution (education or subject-specific field preferred).
- Prior experience in test preparation instruction (SAT/ACT) is strongly preferred.
- High standardized test scores (SAT/ACT) required – please include score reports with your application.
- Strong subject matter expertise, particularly in English and/or Math.
- Experience in lesson planning and curriculum development.
- Effective classroom management and student engagement skills.
- Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners and academic levels.
- Professional demeanor with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with educational technology platforms for tutoring is a plus.
