Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled and motivated English Tutor to join our Irvine team. This role focuses on SAT, ACT, and AP English instruction, helping students improve reading comprehension, grammar, and analytical writing through structured strategies and personalized support.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach SAT & ACT English (Reading & Writing sections)
• Provide AP English (Language & Literature) support
• Help students strengthen grammar, vocabulary, and critical reading skills
• Guide students in essay writing and timed writing strategies
• Develop customized lesson plans based on student performance
• Track progress and provide feedback to students and parents
• Teach small group (3:1) or 1:1 sessions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required (English, Education, or related field preferred)
• Strong SAT/ACT English knowledge and test strategies
• Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
• Prior tutoring or teaching experience preferred
• Passionate, responsible, and student-focused

Preferred Qualifications

• High SAT/ACT verbal score (or equivalent)
• Experience teaching AP English courses
• Familiarity with college application essays

Schedule & Compensation

• Flexible hours (weekday afternoons/evenings + weekends)

Compensation

The pay rate for this position will be determined based on your educational background and relevant experience. Please note: the compensation range listed on Indeed is an estimate and may not reflect the actual pay for this role.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
