The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music education and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. This role involves developing engaging lesson plans, managing classroom dynamics, and supporting students' artistic growth across various mediums.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop comprehensive lesson plans tailored to various age groups and skill levels, incorporating elements of theory, performance, and appreciation.
- Deliver engaging lessons that motivate students to explore their musical talents and achieve their personal goals.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be comfortable working with students who are neurodivergent.
- Maintain detailed records of lesson plans, student progress, and behavioral management strategies to support continuous improvement.
Skills
- Strong background in curriculum development with the ability to adapt content for different age groups and learning styles.
- Proven experience in teaching music or related arts in classroom or workshop settings.
- Excellent classroom management skills to foster a positive environment conducive to learning and creativity.
- Experience in tutoring students individually or in small groups to enhance their musical skills.
- Working knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
- Ability to work effectively with children, teenagers, and adult learners across various educational contexts.
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques to maintain discipline while encouraging participation.
- Knowledge of additional artistic disciplines such as theater, ballet, cooking, sewing, or photography is a plus for interdisciplinary projects.
- Strong lesson planning skills combined with creativity to develop engaging activities that inspire students’ artistic growth.
- Experience working with special education needs or in inclusive classrooms is advantageous for supporting diverse learners. Current pay is $30 per hour.
The pay will increase to $32.50 an hour starting July 2026.
You will get paid driving to students homes.
Both part time and full time roles are available.
