Entry Level Automotive Technician

Rack N Road, a locally-owned outdoor and automotive parts retailer and installation center specializing in setting up people's vehicles so they can get out and enjoy the outdoors, is looking to hire an experienced Automotive Technician for part to full time hours in our San Jose store.

Rack N Road Car Racks and Hitch Superstores sell, rent, and install the racks (bike racks, ski racks, snowboard racks, kayak racks) of industry giants like Thule and Yakima. Rack N Road has cargo boxes for any budget, trailers, trailer hitches, and various accessories for the inside and outside of your vehicle.

Primary Automotive Technician responsibilities include:

• Installing Car Racks, trailer hitches, and other related accessories on customers' cars promptly.
• Follow appropriate safety measures at all times when working on customers' vehicles.
• Keeping the installation bay clean and organized.
• Post-installation interactions with the customer, explaining how the product works and what work was completed.
• Other duties as assigned by the Store Manager
• Opportunity to move to the sales floor to work with customers directly, if desired.

Prior automotive technician experience is preferred. Must be comfortable using tools and working on cars. A positive attitude and great customer service skills are a must. We look for someone who is: Self motivated, a people person, and has a great work ethic. Love for the outdoors and/or cars is a plus. Flexible hours are available. Some weekend work is required.

Earning potential from $19.00+ per hour (Includes opportunity to earn additional monthly spiffs and incentives etc.). We also offer a generous 401 (k) for eligible employees and a discount for employees.
