Entry Level CNC machinist

Job Summary

Gear Motions, a growing Employee Owned company, has a need for an CNC Machinist or machinist trainee with ability to learn programming. One year of experience either working as a machinist or training as a machinist is recommended. This position is 1st Shift.

Qualifications and Skills

• High School diploma or equivalency
• Prior experience as a machinist is needed
• The ideal candidate will have some training using various CNC manufacturing equipment including by not limited to: Lathes, Mills, and Grinders
• Experience with Mori Seiki, Okuma, Yama Seiki, and Haas VF Mills is a plus
• Good mechanical ability and with good shop math skills
• Must be able to use gage to inspect parts to ensure parts meet customer specifications
• Must be willing to embrace cell concept manufacturing
• Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in a changing work environment
• Ability to read blueprints and follow Customer and Engineering requirements
• Ability to be punctual on a daily basis
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Ability to learn and take notes while training with one of our senior machinists
• Authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining specifications
• Train to operate CNC lathes/mills/ grinders and precision measuring instruments to produce high-quality components
• Utilize basic math and mechanical knowledge to ensure accurate measurements and adjustments
• Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines and tooling to ensure optimal performance
• Collaborate with team members to enhance production efficiency and adhere to safety standards
• Document production processes and maintain accurate records of work performed.
