Entry Level Designer and Draftsman

Looking for someone to:

Help clients with designing. Mainly guiding them come to a final decision on selections for finishes, compiling the spec book and turning over the specifications to the project management team so that construction can occur. They would create design boards for each client; work with them to achieve the final product of completed planning - from schematic design to fully completed blueprints and 3D renderings; ensuring all planning is complete and final.

The following are the skills, abilities and responsibilities expected of this position:

- Fully responsible for schematic drawings and designs, meeting with clients and understanding client’s needs and wants for project, client communication, running initial design meetings, design planning, designing/schematics and revisions, helping clients pick selections within deadlines, creating spec book, coordinating across company as needed.

- Fully responsible for ensuring design services provide a construction project outline that provides what the clients need and want on their projects and is fully ready for turn over to the Construction Division’s Project Management team. Coordinates and keeps everyone updated on design progress. Ensures clients are active and participating on web portal for designs, especially on picking selections.

- Must love designing and creating custom, high-end-luxury homes.

- Must have excellent communication skills.

- Must have excellent control of people and able to talk in front of people.

- Must be able to deal with upset or cranky people and bringing them up to being cheerful.

- Must have eye for quality and aesthetics.

- Must be familiar with a variety of design styles, classic, Spanish colonial, modern, key west, craftsman, industrial, etc.

- Must be capable of staying organized and self-running, reporting daily and weekly updates to clients and executives.

- Must be able to use a computer, Office, Google Workspace and able to learn new programs.

- Experience designing is a big plus.

- Ability to use AutoCAD and/or Design 20/20 is a big plus.

- Ability to design and create floor plans in CAD is a big plus.

- Ability to create cabinet design for kitchen and bathrooms with design software is a big plus.

- Must have a valid driver license and reliable transportation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
