<Responsibilities>
- Assist with daily bookkeeping tasks, including data entry of transactions using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Quicken
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger account analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Prepare journal entries for various financial transactions in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes by verifying invoices and processing payments
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations to maintain precise financial records
- Assist with payroll processing and related tax filings, ensuring compliance with governmental regulations
- Generate basic financial reports and summaries to aid management in decision-making processes
<Requirements>
- Basic understanding of accounting principles such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and account reconciliation
- Experience with accounting software like QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms is highly desirable
- Familiarity with financial concepts including GAAP standards, journal entries, and financial report writing
- Strong attention to detail with proficiency in 10 key typing and data entry accuracy
- Ability to perform bank reconciliations, account analysis, and general ledger accounting tasks efficiently
- Knowledge of governmental accounting practices and tax experience is a plus but not required
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience or coursework in public accounting or corporate accounting is advantageous
