Job Summary

Job Description

Assist with daily plant care tasks including sowing, sampling, transplanting, watering, harvesting, discarding plant material, and seed processing.
Monitor plant health and environmental conditions while following standard greenhouse procedures.
Maintain clean and organized workspaces to support safe and efficient operations.
Work hands-on with row crops through all growth stages.
Assist with basic troubleshooting of greenhouse and growth chamber equipment.
Support preventive maintenance tasks and learn how environmental control systems operate.
Report equipment or environmental issues to the supervisor promptly.
Learn the proper care and use of tools and follow established safety procedures.
Perform work that includes standing for extended periods and working in warm greenhouse conditions, especially during summer months.
Support day-to-day greenhouse research operations with tasks that may vary regularly.
Participate in rotational weekend or holiday work as needed, typically for plant watering or checks.

Skills Required

0–4 years of experience in greenhouse work, plant care, maintenance, or related areas.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to perform hands-on work with plants and equipment.

Education/Training/Certifications

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Biology, Horticulture, Plant Science, Engineering Technology, or a related life sciences field.
Equivalent experience or training will be considered, including greenhouse work, technical trades, agricultural experience, or similar hands-on roles.

Additional Requirements

Must pass a drug screening and criminal background checks
Work Start Time: 07:00 AM
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to work in warm greenhouse conditions.
Availability for rotational weekend or holiday work as needed.
Willingness to learn new skills.
Interest in plant science, greenhouse production, agriculture, or technical systems.

Pay Rate/Salary

Estimated Salary: $15.47 to $23.47 per hour. Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors.
