Entry-Level IT Support Technician (Trucking & Fleet Technology)

Job Purpose: We are a Long Island-based trucking company that relies on technology to keep our fleet moving efficiently. From GPS vehicle tracking to driver tablets that manage daily workflow, our systems are critical to daily operations. We’re looking for a dependable, hands-on IT Support Technician to help keep everything running smoothly.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide first-level support for office staff and drivers (in-person and remote)
  • Troubleshoot and support vehicle GPS tracking systems and fleet management software
  • Set up, configure, and maintain driver tablets and handheld devices
  • Assist drivers with login issues, app troubleshooting, and connectivity problems
  • Support basic networking (Wi-Fi, internet connectivity, mobile data issues)
  • Install and maintain PCs, printers, and other office equipment
  • Manage user accounts (email, system access, permissions)
  • Document issues and resolutions; escalate complex problems when needed

Qualifications:

  • Prior IT support or help desk role experience
  • Basic knowledge of Windows OS and mobile devices (Android/iOS tablets)
  • Knowledge of Office 365, SharePoint a plus
  • Comfortable working with handheld devices and field-based technology
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills (ability to articulate technical information clearly to non-technical drivers and staff)
  • Reliable, organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid driver’s license (occasional travel between office locations may be required)
  • Certifications (CompTIA A+, etc.) are a plus but not required

Experience:

  • IT Support or help desk role: 1-3 years (Preferred)
  • Android / iOS: 1-3 years (Preferred)
  • Microsoft Products (OS / Office365): 1-3 years (Preferred)
  • Experience with GPS tracking platforms or ELD systems
  • Familiarity with trucking/logistics operations
  • Experience with mobile device management (MDM) tools

Job Type: Full-time

Salary Range:

  • $30.00 – $40.00 per hour, based on experience and technical knowledge

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
