Job Summary
The Health & Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the organization’s health and safety policies, programs, and procedures. This role ensures compliance with legal requirements, industry standards, and company objectives while fostering a safe, healthy, and sustainable workplace environment. The manager acts as a key advisor to leadership on safety risks, prevention strategies, and continuous improvement in safety culture.
Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and best practices.

Ensure compliance with national labor laws, OSHA (or relevant local standards), ISO 45001, and other applicable regulations.

Conduct regular risk assessments, workplace inspections, and safety audits; recommend corrective actions.

Lead incident investigations, prepare reports, and ensure implementation of preventive measures.

Train, guide, and support employees and managers on safe work practices, emergency preparedness, and hazard prevention.

Manage safety communication programs, campaigns, and employee engagement activities to promote a positive safety culture.

Develop and monitor key health & safety performance indicators (KPIs) and report results to management.

Coordinate emergency response plans, drills, and first aid programs.

Liaise with external stakeholders, such as government authorities, insurance providers, and auditors, regarding HSE matters.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risks, improve compliance, and achieve safety excellence.
Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Professional certification (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, IOSH, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor) preferred.

Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in occupational health & safety, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.

Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation, standards, and best practices.

Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or construction environments is highly desirable.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to conduct training sessions and influence behavioral change.
