Position Summary
This is a hands-on role supporting our Environmental & Geotechnical Drilling Operations. This field based role assists the Drill Operator with rig setup, equipment operations, sample collections, site cleanup, and maintenance duties. The ideal candidate thrives in outdoor environments, follows instructions precisely, and takes pride in high-quality, safety-driven work.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Drill Operator with mobilizing and setting up drill rigs and support equipment
- Handle and prepare drilling tools, rods, augers, and casing
- Collect and label soil, rock, and groundwater samples accurately
- Load and unload equipment and materials safely and efficiently
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, vehicles, and tools
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks and report mechanical issues
- Participate in daily safety briefings and hazard assessments
- Complete documentation, such as daily logs, under supervision
- Comply with all company safety policies and procedures
- Travel to various job sites throughout the Midwest, including occasional overnight stays
- Perform other tasks as assigned to support drilling operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ year of construction, drilling, or outdoor labor experience preferred
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments and lift 75+ lbs
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus (training provided if not certified)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical exam
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
- CDL License a BIG plus.
Working Conditions
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Long hours and travel, including some overnight stays
- Exposure to heavy equipment, noise, dirt, and potentially hazardous materials
