Environmental Graphic Designer / Project Manager

Job Description:

Sign Expo is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Environmental Graphic Designer / Project Manager to join our team. In this dual-role position, you will be responsible for designing high-quality signage and graphics while also managing projects from concept through production and installation. A strong understanding of the signage industry, design best practices, and project coordination is essential.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, visually creative, and an excellent communicator who can balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Design a wide range of signage and environmental graphics, including storefront signage, vinyl graphics, vehicle wraps, illuminated signs, and more
• Prepare production-ready artwork files with precise specifications for fabrication and installation
• Ability to manage projects from initial client brief through design, production, and final installation
• Conduct site visits as needed to assess project requirements, take measurements, and develop design concepts
• Create clear, detailed mockups, renderings, and presentation materials for client approval
• Develop and maintain project timelines, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met
• Collaborate closely with fabrication and installation teams to ensure design intent is executed accurately
• Communicate clearly with clients, vendors, and internal teams throughout all project phases
• Review proofs, materials, and final outputs to ensure quality and accuracy
• Maintain organized project documentation, including design files, approvals, and production notes
• Problem-solve creatively and efficiently when challenges arise during any phase of a project

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in graphic design, preferably within the signage or environmental graphics industry
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
• Strong understanding of typography, layout, color, and large-format design principles
• Working knowledge of sign production processes and materials
• Experience managing multiple projects and timelines simultaneously
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong client-facing and relationship management skills
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to read architectural drawings and create scaled layouts is a plus
• Familiarity with project management tools/software is a plus
• Must be fluent in English

Pay: $52,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
