Environmental Law Litigation Paralegal-5+ years Paralegal experience

Nason Yeager is a multi-service law firm, offering a broad range of legal services founded in 1960. Our Fort Lauderdale branch is currently seeking a Paralegals to support our commercial litigation department with a focus in Environmental Law.

What you’ll bring to the table:

To be successful in this role, you’ll be an experienced Microsoft Office 365 user and a friendly, cooperative and positive person. You will need to be an energetic, self-starter who is capable of handling multiple projects and priorities. You must be detail oriented, have excellent grammar, computer, phone and organizational skills. You must have 5+ years’ experience in commercial litigation support and knowledge of Florida local and state courts e-filing processes and requirements.

Some details about what you will do:

• As an Environmental Law paralegal, you will provide support to the attorneys handling complex environmental litigation, regulatory matters, and land-use cases, conducting legal research; drafting legal documents; preparing case files; maintaining critical dates calendars and coordinating schedules; and communicating with attorneys, government agencies, and private organizations on matters pertaining to federal and state environmental laws and land use regulations.
• You will be able to proofread and format lengthy documents (sometimes 45-60 pages long) so that they are compliant with judge/local municipality format requirements.
• You must be willing to travel to assist with in-person court proceedings anywhere in the state of Florida.
• Your responsibilities will include prioritizing, managing and following through on multiple projects while communicating effectively with clients, attorneys, staff and peers with tasks ranging from document drafting to discovery to trial preparation.
• You will be able to demonstrate thorough knowledge of firm and practice-specific processes and procedures.
• You will maintain records regarding billable hours spent on specific matters.

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies or related field; Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or related field preferred.
• Paralegal certificate preferred.
• Excellent Microsoft Word skills including experience with reveal codes/keeping formatting marks visible on the screen in order to modify/format documents.
• Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience at a mid-to-large law firm.
• Proficient in such programs NetDocuments, iTimekeep, LexisNexis, Microsoft Outlook, and Excel.

As a Paralegal, you will be working for a multi-service law firm with offices in Palm Beach Gardens, Boca Raton, and Ft. Lauderdale. You will work in-office/onsite at our Fort Lauderdale location with work hours between 8:30-5:30 or 9-6.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
