Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Environmental Scientist to join our team. This role involves conducting scientific research, analyzing environmental data, and supporting sustainable practices across various projects. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive scientific research related to environmental conditions and impacts
- Collect, analyze, and interpret environmental data using advanced data analysis skills
- Utilize GIS tools such as ArcGIS and AutoCAD to map and visualize spatial data
- Perform field data collection using GPS devices and other measurement tools
- Support laboratory experiments and maintain laboratory equipment with proper procedures
- Apply mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment or instrumentation as needed
- Prepare detailed technical reports and research papers through technical writing
- Use programming languages like Python to automate data processing tasks
- Assist in horticultural projects by applying knowledge of plant science and ecology
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on research initiatives aimed at environmental conservation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Geography, or related field
- Proven experience with scientific research methodologies and data collection techniques
- Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS and AutoCAD for spatial analysis and mapping
- Strong data analysis skills with experience interpreting complex datasets
- Laboratory experience including sample preparation, testing, and equipment maintenance
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to environmental monitoring equipment
- Familiarity with GPS technology for accurate field data collection
- Programming skills in Python for data automation and analysis tasks (nice-to-have)
- Excellent technical writing abilities for preparing reports and documentation
- Knowledge of horticulture practices is a plus for specific projects involving plant ecosystems

Pay: $42.00 - $47.00 per hour
