Job Summary
The Environmental Services Representative (EVS) oversees the cleaning and organization of the facilities and offices. The EVS representative will maintain participant and non-participant areas in a clean, safe and sanitary condition, while supporting and displaying the company’s core values on a daily basis.

Job Specific Duties

Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Adhere to the company policy on confidentiality as well as adhere to all program policies and procedures.
  • Performs cleaning procedures for patient care areas, such as but not limited to, medical equipment, medical furniture, spills of blood and body substances.
  • Ensures all rooms are cared for and inspected according to standards
  • Notifies supervisor on any damages, deficits and disturbances
  • Handles reasonable complaints/requests with professionalism and patience
  • Ensures appropriate stocking levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate
  • Adheres strictly to rules regarding health and safety and demonstrates awareness of company-related practices
  • Understands the principles of Cleaning and Disinfecting environmental surfaces and ensures they are followed
  • Understands the levels of disinfection and ensures they are followed.
  • Understands and locates the SDS (Safety Data Sheets) in the facility. Understanding of how to read these documents and adhere to their safety guidelines when handling cleaning products.
  • Ensures proper use of cleaning chemicals according to label directions.
  • Available to assist other areas/departments, including the Day Center, when needed.
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings, trainings, in-services, projects, and committees as assigned.
  • Adheres to and supports the center’s practices, procedures, and policies including assigned break times and attendance.
  • Accepts assigned duties in a cooperative manner; and perform all other related duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in schedule of hours worked.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands
The working conditions and physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Ability to access all areas of the center throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds occasionally, 15 pounds frequently, and 7 pounds constantly; required to obtain assistance of another qualified employee when attempting to lift or transfer objects over 25 pounds.
  • Requires constant hand grasp and finger dexterity; frequent standing, walking and repetitive leg and arm movements, bending, reaching forward and overhead; squatting and kneeling.
  • Work is generally performed in an indoor, well-lighted, well-ventilated, heated, and air-conditioned environment.

Experience
Minimum of one (1) year of documented experience working with a frail or elderly population.
Minimum of one (1) year experience in Environmental Services preferred.

Education and Certification
  • High School Graduate or completion of a GED program preferred.
  • Is medically cleared for communicable diseases and has all immunizations up-to-date before engaging in direct participant contact
