Environmental Services Housekeeper/Laundry Aide

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning of resident rooms, common areas, restrooms, hallways, and other designated spaces using proper cleaning techniques and equipment.
• Ensure all surfaces are sanitized according to health standards, including floors, furniture, fixtures, and high-touch areas.
• Operate cleaning machinery such as floor buffers, vacuums, and carpet cleaners to maintain floor care excellence.
• Handle laundry duties by washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and resident clothing with care and efficiency.
• Follow safety protocols related to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
• Maintain cleanliness of storage areas for cleaning supplies and laundry equipment while adhering to sanitation standards.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to supervisors for quick resolution.

Requirements

• Prior experience in environmental services, janitorial work, or custodial roles is preferred; hospital or healthcare experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to cleaning and sanitation practices.
• Demonstrated ability to perform detailed cleaning tasks efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Familiarity with floor care techniques including stripping, waxing, buffing, and carpet cleaning is desirable.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
