Position Summary

The Environmental Services Technician plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment for staff, visitors, and the individuals we serve. This position is responsible for performing routine cleaning, sanitation, and facility upkeep to ensure all areas meet organizational, health, and safety standards.

The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in creating a welcoming and well-maintained environment.

Essential Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of offices, restrooms, common areas, classrooms, and program spaces
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize floors and surfaces
• Clean and disinfect high-touch areas such as door handles, tables, and equipment
• Empty trash and recycling and replace liners as needed
• Restock cleaning and restroom supplies throughout the facility
• Maintain safe storage and proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment
• Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or needed repairs to the appropriate department
• Assist with room setup and breakdown for meetings, activities, or events
• Follow infection control, safety, and sanitation protocols
• Order and keep inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment
• Support a clean and welcoming environment for individuals served, staff, and visitors
• Maintain all necessary paperwork, and assist with compliance related needs.
• Special projects as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous custodial, janitorial, or environmental services experience preferred but not required
• Ability to operate basic cleaning equipment (vacuum, floor scrubber, etc.)
• Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals according to manufacturer guidelines
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to pass a Caregiver Background Check

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
• Ability to push/pull cleaning carts and equipment
• Ability to perform repetitive cleaning tasks

Work Environment

This role works in a facility setting and may involve exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and typical environmental service conditions. Proper protective equipment will be provided.

Pay: $19.00 per hour
