This role is essential to maintaining a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients, staff, and visitors within our inpatient psychiatric hospital. The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, environmental safety, and infection‑control standards throughout the facility in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. This position performs a variety of cleaning, sanitation, linen distribution, and support duties to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, staff, and visitors within an inpatient psychiatric hospital setting.

Perform general cleaning of patient rooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, and assigned facility areas.

Dust furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment; dust‑mop and wet‑mop floors.

Clean, disinfect, and polish fixtures, mirrors, windows, doors, walls, and bathroom surfaces.

Perform terminal cleaning of patient rooms and prepare rooms for new occupants, including adherence to isolation procedures when required.

Operate environmental services equipment including floor scrubbers, buffers, vacuums, shampooers, and other related machinery.

Collect, transport, and dispose of trash, biohazard waste, and recyclables using designated containers and procedures.

Distribute clean linens to departments according to established par levels and schedules; restock nursing floors as needed.

Assemble and deliver supply packs, respond to supply requests, and distribute emergency supplies when necessary.

Track linen usage by department and maintain accurate records.

Move furniture and equipment as required to perform cleaning or support operational needs.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas; clean and store equipment properly.

Assist with facility evacuations when required.

Comply with all safety standards, infection‑control practices, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Perform other duties as assigned.
This position does not have supervisory responsibility.

Primarily indoor work within an inpatient psychiatric hospital.
