Environmental Supervisor (Located in Liberia)

Avesoro is a leading gold mining company operating in West Africa, dedicated to operational excellence, safety, and responsible mining practices. We are seeking an Environmental Supervisor to support environmental compliance, monitoring, and sustainability activities at the New Liberty Gold Mine.

This position will play an active role in environmental monitoring, waste management, water treatment operations, environmental reporting, and Environmental Management System (EMS) implementation while ensuring compliance with company standards and international best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse and validate environmental monitoring data received from field activities and laboratory results, ensuring quality control and data integrity,
• Maintain and update the developed monitoring database and generates the compliance graphs for environmental reporting,
• Ensure calibration and proper functioning of monitoring equipment,
• Oversee site-wide management of domestic and hazardous waste, including on-site handling and off-site disposal in compliance with regulations,
• Prepare the daily program and assignments for environmental team employees and coordinates the program with team officers,
• Oversee the operation and performance of the mine site water treatment plant ensuring compliance with applicable standards,
• Conduct environmental inspections, prepare reports, and track corrective actions to closure,
• Track and ensure compliance with all project-related government permits,
• Support Environmental Management System (EMS) implementation, environmental training, and reclamation planning and tracking,
• Support environmental management system implementation at nearby exploration sites,
• Support environmental permitting processes for new projects and project modifications,
• Ensure all environmental activities are conducted in line with company standards and international best practices,

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering.

Experience: A minimum 5 years of relevant working experience preferably in mining industry.

Technical Skills: Hands-on experience in EMS implementation, waste management, water treatment operations, environmental monitoring, and rehabilitation is preferred. Experience on GIS software (ArcGIS, Civil 3D, QGIS, MapInfo etc.) is a preference.

Soft Skills: Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

Additional Requirements: Valid driver’s license and clean driving record and the military service should be served for male candidates.
