In the role of the Waste Technician, you must be knowledgeable and be familiar with the process of Non-hazardous and Hazardous Waste Disposal, familiar with reading and interpreting Waste Laboratory Analysis Reports, Understanding of Waste Classification and Waste Transportation Documentation. Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Provides waste management services to clients, including waste profiling, completing required paperwork for pick-ups (manifests, labels), and coordinating shipments.

· Distribute signed manifests in accordance with state and federal regulations.

· Preparation of Waste Profiles for non-hazardous and Hazardous Waste disposal and recycling facilities.

· Assist Clients in performing required Laboratory Analysis and collecting information required for waste profiling. Coordinating waste material sampling events and completing COC’s.

· Perform related client housekeeping services at Petrochem and pipeline terminal facilities.

· Complete and submit waste profiles and other documentation required for Waste Facility Approval

· Ensure load and manifest discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner and in compliance with all state, federal requirements.

· Proactively communicating with clients during all phases of waste projects.

· Interact daily with clients while developing strong working relationships.

· Develop a solid understanding of the regulations and site capabilities.

  • Assists with regulatory inspections.

· Ability to read and interpret SDS’ and advise clients on waste management strategies.

· Understand proper waste container labeling and DOT transportation placarding.

Knowledge, Skills and Ability:

  • 40 Hour Hazwoper (or 8 Hour refresher)
  • DOT or related hazmat training is preferred
  • Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines
  • Ability to work independently or with others as required
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills required

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
