Equipment and Building Maintenance Technician

Position Summary

The Equipment and Building Maintenance Technician supports our manufacturing operation by performing routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on facility systems, production equipment, and building infrastructure. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing environment by minimizing downtime, improving equipment performance, and ensuring the facility remains in good working condition.

Key Responsibilities Equipment & Production Support

· Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain manufacturing equipment such as conveyors, motors, gearboxes, pumps, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and other production machinery.

· Perform preventive maintenance to reduce unplanned downtime and extend equipment life.

· Assist with equipment installations, machine moves, and line changeovers.

· Ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently to support production demands.

Documentation & Safety

· Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and parts usage records.

· Follow all company, OSHA, and NFPA safety standards.

· Participate in safety audits, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities.

· Maintain a clean and organized maintenance work area.

Facility & Building Maintenance

· Perform general building maintenance, including plumbing, basic electrical, lighting, painting, carpentry, and minor repairs.

· Inspect and maintain facility systems such as HVAC, compressed air, water, and ventilation.

· Monitor and respond to facility maintenance requests from production and support teams.

· Support safety initiatives, including machine guarding, proper signage, emergency equipment inspections, and hazard mitigation.

Qualifications

· High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance preferred.

· 2–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

· Strong mechanical aptitude with experience working on industrial equipment.

· Knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical drives.

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and electrical/mechanical schematics.

· Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic testing equipment.

· Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and respond quickly to urgent issues.

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Preferred Skills / Certifications

· Experience with CNC equipment, robotics, or automated manufacturing lines.

· PLC troubleshooting experience.

· HVAC certification (EPA 608).

· Mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance certification.

Work Environment

· Fast-paced manufacturing facility.

· Exposure to noise, moving machinery, lubricants, and varying temperatures.

· PPE required (hearing protection, eye protection, gloves, etc.).

· May require overtime, shift work, or on-call rotation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
