Equipment Manager (Volunteer)
Reports To: Team Operations / Head Coach
Location: Indiana (Practices, Games, & Events)
Position Overview
The Equipment Manager (Volunteer) is responsible for organizing, maintaining, and distributing all team equipment to ensure players and coaches are prepared for practices, games, and events. This role is critical to the safety, professionalism, and smooth operation of Indiana Valor Women’s Football and supports the team’s mission to provide a high-quality experience for women athletes.
This is a non-paid volunteer position ideal for a detail-oriented, dependable individual who enjoys hands-on work and being an essential part of a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Management

Inventory, organize, and maintain all team equipment including helmets, pads, uniforms, practice gear, and accessories

Ensure equipment is clean, safe, and game-ready

Track issuance and return of equipment for players and coaches
Practice & Game Day Support

Set up and break down equipment for practices and games

Prepare and transport equipment to home and away games as needed

Assist with locker room setup and post-game breakdown
Safety & Compliance

Monitor equipment condition and report damage or safety concerns

Ensure proper fitting and use of equipment in coordination with coaching staff

Support league and organizational equipment standards
Coordination & Communication

Work closely with coaching staff, Team Operations, others as needed

Communicate equipment needs, shortages, and replacement recommendations

Assist with uniform assignments and game-day logistics
Storage & Organization

Maintain a clean, organized, and secure equipment storage area

Label and store equipment according to team systems
Qualifications
Required

Strong organizational and time-management skills

Reliability and consistent availability during practices and games

Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team

Willingness to handle and care for athletic equipment
Preferred

Prior experience with football equipment or athletic team operations

Familiarity with basic equipment fitting and safety standards

Experience in volunteer or nonprofit settings
Physical Requirements

Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment (up to 40–50 lbs as needed)

Ability to stand, bend, and move for extended periods
Time Commitment

Regular attendance at practices and all games

Increased commitment during the season; flexible off-season responsibilities
