seeking an experienced Equipment Manager to support our teams and ensure our fleet of heavy
equipment and trucks is operating at peak performance.
Position Summary
The Equipment Manager oversees the daily management, maintenance, and deployment of all
heavy equipment and heavy trucks across multiple job sites. This role ensures equipment reliability,
minimizes downtime, and supports the Director of Equipment in long-term fleet planning and
operational strategy.
Responsibilities
- Manage the company's fleet of heavy equipment, heavy trucks, and support machinery.
- Coordinate equipment scheduling, mobilization, and logistics for job sites.
- Oversee preventive maintenance programs and ensure timely service and inspections.
- Track equipment utilization, performance, and downtime; recommend repairs or replacements.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, inspections, and equipment assignments.
- Work with vendors and service providers for parts, repairs, rentals, and warranty claims.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and fleet planning with the Director of Equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, DOT regulations, and company policies.
- Train staff on proper equipment use, care, and safety procedures.
- Assist with equipment purchasing, leasing, and disposal decisions.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience managing heavy equipment or fleet operations.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy machinery and truck systems.
- Experience with maintenance software or equipment tracking systems.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work in the field and travel between job sites as needed.
- Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred.
