EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

JOB SUMMARY:

Automotive Testing and Development Services, Inc. (ATDS) is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Equipment Operator to support maintenance operations at the Uvalde Proving Grounds (UPG), a 5,000-acre automotive testing facility. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating farm and construction equipment, a strong safety record, and a willingness to learn new skills in a dynamic testing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment including bulldozers, graders, tractors, backhoes, skid steers, and loaders
• Maintain test routes, access roads, and open areas by clearing debris, vegetation, and hazards
• Perform grading and surface leveling to ensure safe and consistent driving conditions
• Conduct basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
• Support drainage, erosion control, and site improvement activities
• Follow all safety procedures and support team operations as needed

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience operating farm or construction equipment
• Strong understanding of equipment operation and job site safety
• Ability to read work orders, site plans, or basic layouts
• Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus)
• HS Diploma or GED is required; Associate degree or technical training preferred

Work Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and terrain
• Physically capable of lifting, climbing, and operating equipment for extended periods
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or emergency calls

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
