Equipment Operator

Equipment Operator

We are seeking an experienced Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. This position requires someone who can step onto a job site, understand the task at hand, operate equipment efficiently, and help keep projects moving without constant direction.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate heavy equipment including excavators, skid steers, loaders, mini excavators, dozers, compactors, and related machinery
  • Perform grading, excavation, drainage, trenching, site prep, material handling, and cleanup
  • Read and understand site plans, grades, and layout instructions
  • Work independently and make sound decisions in the field
  • Maintain productivity while ensuring quality workmanship
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
  • Identify potential job site hazards and maintain a safe work environment
  • Communicate effectively with crew members, subcontractors, and supervisors
  • Assist with labor tasks when needed

Qualifications

  • Proven experience operating heavy equipment in construction, excavation, landscaping, or site development
  • Ability to work with little supervision and stay productive throughout the day
  • Strong understanding of grading, drainage, and site work practices
  • Experience working around utilities and underground infrastructure preferred
  • Ability to read grade stakes, lasers, or site plans is a plus
  • Reliable transportation and strong attendance record
  • CDL is a plus but not required
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Must prioritize safety and take pride in quality work
