Equipment Operator and Laborer

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Equipment Operator and Laborer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating heavy machinery, assisting with various labor tasks, and ensuring the smooth progress of construction projects. Duties

• Operate a variety of heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators and front loader trucks to support construction activities
• Assist with site preparation, material handling, and equipment setup to ensure project timelines are met
• Drive commercial vehicles such as dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, and tanker trucks to transport materials and equipment around the site
• Perform general labor tasks including site cleanup, loading/unloading materials, and assisting skilled tradespeople as needed
• Conduct routine inspections of machinery like Caterpillar equipment and farm machinery to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance
• Follow safety protocols diligently during all operations and report any hazards or equipment malfunctions promptly
• Support concrete mixing operations using concrete mixers and assist in pouring and finishing concrete surfaces

Qualifications

• Prior experience working on construction sites or in heavy equipment operation is highly preferred
• Mechanical knowledge related to construction machinery such as excavators, dozers, loaders, and cranes
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or ability to obtain one is a plus for operating large vehicles like dump trucks or tanker trucks
• Familiarity with construction tools, farm machinery, water trucks, and tanker operations is advantageous
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting heavy materials and working outdoors in various weather conditions
• Strong attention to safety procedures and ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
• Basic understanding of construction site protocols and the operation of equipment such as front loaders and roll-off trucks
