Equity Research Analyst – Market Data & Backtesting

About the Role

Cubemoons Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a detail-driven Equity Research Analyst to support our internal research and market analysis initiatives. This role focuses on historical market data analysis, chart studies, and strategy backtesting to generate actionable research insights.

This is a pure research and analytics position with no client-facing responsibilities and no involvement in investment advisory or portfolio management activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct backtesting of equity market strategies using historical national market data.
• Analyze price action, trends, indicators, and chart patterns across multiple timeframes.
• Study and interpret data from NSE, BSE, and other national market sources.
• Prepare structured research reports, insights, and analytical summaries for internal use.
• Assist in building and refining technical research frameworks and data-driven models.
• Maintain and organize market data, research documentation, and analysis dashboards.
• Collaborate with internal research and analytics teams to improve strategy accuracy.
• Ensure all research work strictly adheres to internal compliance and regulatory guidelines.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of equity markets and technical analysis concepts.
• Hands-on experience with chart analysis, market research, or backtesting methodologies.
• Proficiency in tools such as:
• TradingView
• MS Excel / Google Sheets
• Any backtesting or analytical platforms
• Strong analytical thinking with high attention to detail.
• Ability to create clear, accurate, and data-backed research reports.

Preferred (Optional) Skills

• Certification in Technical Analysis, Equity Research, NISM, or similar.
• Exposure to quantitative or algorithmic research concepts.
• Basic knowledge of Python or data analysis libraries is an added advantage.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹5,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
