Description:

Cuero Regional Hospital is searching for a FT ER Director, Stroke Program Coordinator, Geriatric Program Coordinator in our Emergency Department.

Job Description:

  • The Emergency Room Director is responsible and accountable to the Chief Nursing Officer for facilitating, delegating and coordinating all nursing care provided in the Emergency Department.
  • S/he coordinates and integrates emergency services provided with diagnostic imaging, laboratory, respiratory therapy, surgery, and other disciplines.
  • S/he evaluates departmental services and maintains standards of quality by assessing and prioritizing opportunities to improve, plans and implements effective changes and evaluates outcomes of process improvement activities.
  • S/he is responsible for the 24 hour direction of departmental employees with regard to schedules, quality care and other related matters, through approved hospital and emergency department policies and procedures.
  • S/he insures compliance with current Medicare standards and prepares the departmental budget.
  • S/he maintains effective, efficient and professional communication and rapport with personnel, physicians, patient and visitors.
  • The Emergency Department Director will function as the Stroke Director to ensure optimal stroke care through clinical activities, professional and public education, and quality improvement activities.
  • S/he will also develop and function as the Geriatric Readiness Coordinator facilitating and coordinating input from all pertinent areas of the hospital.
  • Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical acute care nursing experience
  • 1 year of management experience as a full time departmental director or charge nurse preferred
  • Current Texas licensure
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC required; NIHSS within 90 days of hire

PTO available after 90 days; EIL available after 6 months
