Job Summary:

A designer will follow established technical specifications while preparing drawings/models for designated projects and proactively collaborate with Project Management and the field team to ensure seamless and efficient installation.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Develop mechanical designs for field installation or fabrication.• Participate/Lead VDC Coordination onsite or web-based meetings.• Convert Bid level construction documents to LOD 500 models with associated documentation. Using Revit, Auto-Sprink, and/or CADmep.
• Facilitate fabrication by communicating and coordinating with field, fab shop and detailers.
• Track progress of jobs through construction, monitoring and updating job documentation and models.
• Review designs and coordination for other team members.
• Participate in ongoing training in design, code interpretation, new technologies and current market trends.
• Build and maintain fabrication services where necessary.

Education and Experience:

• Required: Associate’s degree in mechanical engineering technology or mechanical Drafting and Design or equivalent technical education and 3+ years of technical experience.
• Preferred: Experience with AutoCad, Revit, Auto-Sprink or equivalent. NICET or ability to obtain.

FLSA Classification:

• Non-exempt, Hourly

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer in a standard office environment
• Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
• Standard work hours: 7:00-3:30pm, Monday-Friday
