Summary
The role of the ERP & Data Systems Specialist is to design and develop tools that directly improve business operations. The primary focus of this position is development within Microsoft Dynamics NAV (NAV), supported by SQL-based reporting, data integration, and system enhancement work. Curiosity about how technology supports business workflows is essential, as the role blends programming with real-world operational impact. The ERP to help build, refine, and support the systems that power retail operations across zoos, aquariums, cultural attractions, and resort shops throughout the United States and the Caribbean.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Microsoft Dynamics NAV Development
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain ERP functionality using the C/AL programming language and related tools.
  • Support process improvement initiatives by analyzing workflows and designing system-based solutions.
  • Collaborate with users and department leaders to document requirements and implement NAV enhancements.
  • Assist with testing, validating, and deploying new NAV features and updates.
Data & Reporting
  • Design, develop, and maintain SQL applications, stored procedures, queries, and data views that support ERP and reporting processes.
  • Build, test, and optimize reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Jet Reports.
  • Develop and maintain data integrations between NAV and connected systems.
Cross-System Integration & Support
  • Participate in Azure Data Lake and related data-platform initiatives to support enterprise reporting and analytics.
  • Support data integrity, documentation, and automation efforts across systems.
  • Engage in troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for NAV, SQL, reporting, and integration issues.
  • Contribute to team meetings, planning sessions, and stakeholder discussions regarding improvements and projects.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Information Systems (CIS), Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 0–3 years of experience with SQL development, ERP systems, or reporting tools (e.g., Jet Reports, SSRS, Power BI).
  • Foundational understanding of relational databases and data-driven problem solving.
  • Genuine interest in business operations and process improvement.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new systems, tools, and development concepts.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
Preferred
  • Internship or professional experience in retail, ERP environments, or data analytics.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Jet Reports, SSRS, or cloud data platforms.
