English as a Second Language Substitute Instructors (Entry Level Instructor)

Central Pacific College invites qualified ESL teachers to apply for substitute ESL instructor positions.

Substitutions and temporary appointment lengths vary in length, from days to weeks. You will be added to a list of substitutes.

What You’ll Do
・Teach in-person ESL classes for adult international learners following our established curriculum.
・Prepare engaging lessons and teaching materials tailored to student needs.
・Take daily attendance and record student progress.
Note: The hourly wage includes teaching, preparation, grading, and instructional duties.

Minimum Qualifications
・Bachelor’s degree in a related field (English, Linguistics, TESOL, SLS, Education, etc.)
・At least 6 months of classroom or tutoring experience (preferably with adults)
・Ability to plan and conduct effective lessons

Preferred Qualifications

• 1–2 years of ESL teaching experience
• CELTA or TEFL certification (a plus, not required)
• Experience as a second language learner (helpful for empathy and teaching approach)

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
