We are seeking a passionate and dynamic ESL (English as a Second Language) and World Language Teacher to inspire students in their language learning journey. <Duties>
- Design and implement engaging lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development principles aligned with language acquisition standards and AP style guidelines.
- Utilize effective classroom management techniques to create a positive, inclusive learning environment that supports diverse learning needs.
- Incorporate learning technology tools and instructional design strategies to enhance language instruction and student engagement.
- Conduct assessments, including standardized testing and formative evaluations, to monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
- Provide mentorship and academic advising to students, fostering their linguistic skills, cultural understanding, and personal growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, research initiatives, and educational administration tasks to ensure cohesive program delivery.
- Support literacy education through proofreading, copy editing, and creative writing exercises that strengthen writing skills across languages.
- Engage in professional development activities related to linguistics, classroom experience, special education, Montessori methods, or library services to continually refine teaching practices.
<Qualifications>
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Linguistics, or related field; Master’s preferred with higher education teaching experience.
- Proven classroom experience in teaching ESL or world languages at various levels; private school experience is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional design, Chicago Manual of Style standards, and AP style guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds and collaborate with colleagues.
- Demonstrated organizational skills for lesson planning, classroom management, research projects, and educational administration tasks.
- Familiarity with learning technology platforms, standardized testing procedures, tutoring techniques, and behavior management strategies.
- Experience working with students requiring special education accommodations or behavior support is a plus.
- Passion for fostering literacy education through proofreading, creative writing exercises, and research activities that enhance language proficiency. Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
