About Metro Esports

Metro Sports & Entertainment Group is a digital sports and media company using gaming, esports, and technology education to attract, engage, and empower young people. We design and operate state-of-the-art esports lounges and innovation labs inside community hubs like the YMCA, creating inclusive spaces where students and families can learn, play, and grow.

With eight active locations across Pennsylvania, New York, and Alabama, and beyond, Metro Esports offers a wide range of hands-on programs — including esports leagues and tournaments, game design and development workshops, content creation courses, coding classes, and youth entrepreneurship experiences. Each program is designed to be fun, future-focused, and accessible to all skill levels.

About the Role

About the Role

As an Event & Operations Intern, you’ll support the planning, organization, and execution of Metro’s programming and day-to-day operations across multiple sites. Our fast-paced, mission-driven team manages a wide range of offerings — coding classes, esports clinics, game design workshops, youth entrepreneurship programs, and more — all delivered across our growing network of venues in Pennsylvania, New York, Alabama, and beyond.

This hybrid role is grounded in operational support: helping maintain internal systems, prepping and distributing materials, tracking logistics across sites, and supporting venue readiness. At the same time, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to program ideation, curriculum organization, and documentation—helping ensure every course or event is both impactful and scalable. While this is not a program leadership role, you’ll play an important part in keeping things running smoothly, accurately, and on time behind the scenes.

Program Development & Coordination

  • Contribute to the ideation, planning, and structure of new programs, workshops, and events through brainstorming and research
  • Help draft, revise, and organize program documentation including lesson plans, curriculum packets, and instructor guides
  • Organize and maintain the internal library of courses, ensuring consistency and readiness across sites
  • Assist with feedback collection and post-program review documentation
  • Support ongoing updates to programming materials and version control across teams and locations

Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Logistics

  • Assist with administrative workflows including scheduling, and document formatting
  • Help maintain and update shared calendars, rosters, SOPs, program sheets, and other internal tools
  • Coordinate communication across regional teams to support scheduling, venue coverage, and daily program needs
  • Track, prepare, and restock supply kits, signage, and assets needed for events and ongoing programs
  • Support occasional on-site operations: venue walkthroughs, signage setup, tech readiness, and event support

Who We’re Looking For

You’re organized, reliable, and detail-oriented, but also creative, collaborative, and not afraid to jump into new challenges. You might be pursuing a career in youth development, education, tech, esports, sports business, events, or nonprofit leadership. Or, you may just be passionate about how gaming and creativity can unlock real-world skills for kids. Either way, you’re motivated, curious, and ready to contribute across both strategy and execution.

Must-Haves:

  • Excellent communication, organization, and follow-through
  • Comfort working independently and as part of a small, fast-paced team
  • Interest in gaming, esports, tech education, or youth-focused programming
  • Familiar with Google Workspace (Docs & Sheets)
  • Bonus points for: experience with program design, camp leadership, or curriculum development
