Hopler, Wilms & Hanna, PLLC is a growing law firm headquartered in Durham/RTP, North Carolina. We assist clients with business law, estate planning, estate and fiduciary administration, guardianship matters, and related case types. Our mission is to provide exceptional legal services with a focus on efficiency, accuracy, and client-centered care.

We are seeking a paralegal to join the estate administration and estate planning legal team. Duties will include assisting attorneys with managing a case load of estate administration cases, interaction with clients on a daily basis and assistance with functions of office management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support lead attorneys in managing estate administration and estate planning matters.
  • Prepare and file legal documents, estate administration filings, estate planning documents, and accountings.
  • Draft, edit, and proofread legal documents.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and staff to ensure timely and accurate case progression.
  • Maintain organized case files and manage deadlines using practice management software.
  • Manage legal calendars and deadlines.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Perform other office management and administrative duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ Years of Experience in a Law Firm with an emphasis on applicants with estate planning and administration experience.
  • Paralegal Certification.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Advanced organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Strong research skills, including public records searches and legal research.
  • Experience in drafting, editing, and proofreading legal documents.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven team environment.
  • Demonstrates strong customer service skills and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently, proactively, innovatively, and creatively while exercising sound judgment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
  • Experience with practice management software.

Compensation varies by Experience with a range of $45,000 - $55,000 / year. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO and 401(k) benefit offerings after 90 days of employment.
